Energy conservation efforts and use of energy efficient appliances and equipment save both money and the environment.

The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) provides useful information on American use of energy and the benefits of energy efficiency and conservation. EIA is the element of the US Department of Energy collects, analyzes, and disseminates independent and impartial energy information to promote sound policymaking, efficient markets, and public understanding of energy and its interaction with the economy and the environment.

Energy Saver, another program of the DOE, provides hints to homeowners for ways to reduce energy usage and save money through the use of geothermal heat pumps, solar power, electric cars, energy-efficient appliances and home design, weatherization, heating and cooling tips, and the energy saving benefits of strategically placed trees on the property.

New Jersey’s Clean Energy Program is a project of the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJ BPU) to provide financial incentives, programs and services to NJ residents, business owners and local governments to save energy, money and the environment.
